Meet The Artist
Alexis Sampogna is a Canadian artist from Toronto, Ontario who was born with creativity in her genes. Throughout her childhood and until today she is constantly looking for new art supplies to experiment with.
Alexis is an alumni of Victoria School of the Arts in Edmonton, Alberta which encouraged her passion for art. Her artwork has been showcased in person and digitally throughout the city via their arts and culture programs.
Alexis is well traveled. She lived in Vancouver, British Columbia for nearly 10 years, in the centre of the artsy Gastown neighbourhood. In 2015, Alexis moved across the pond to London, UK and enjoyed a wonderful few years there, where she really dove into spray paint due to it's accessibility.
Upon her return to Vancouver, Alexis started to focus on her love of art. She shifted her attention to Acrylics, attracted by their versatility. She has participated in several workshops led by Scottish-Canadian artist Jeff Wilson, who is also one of her favourite artists. She has also completed Acrylic University led by American-Canadian artist Jed Dorsey, another artist she draws inspiration from.
In 2021, Alexis decided to settle down in Edmonton which has given her the ability to fully explore her artistic passions. She now creates art in mixed media, acrylic, oil, and charcoal among others. She is currently attending Milan Art Institute where she is a part of the Mastery Program. This program focusses on expression and finding your artistic voice, as well as technique.
Her art is currently available on her website, and can also be found on Etsy. Keep an eye out in the near future to see her art in the Old Strathcona Arts Emporium located on Whyte Ave in Edmonton, AB.
